Eric J. Balaguer, M.D. is a board-certified hand and upper extremity surgeon specializing in conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow, as well as micro-vascular surgery and nerve repairs.

His undergraduate education took place at The Ohio State University majoring in biological sciences. He then returned to his native Puerto Rico to attend medical school.

Upon graduation, he obtained an NIH grant and spent two years at the Orthopedic Research Laboratory of Columbia University Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

He completed his formal training at the University of Miami with a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital - University of Miami Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Balaguer is an avid athlete and has been a part of the medical team of different sports teams at the high school, college, and pro-level. He also remains very active in several sports.

Dr. Balaguer is a two-time cancer survivor and is passionate about his charity work with cancer patients. He is involved in many charities including the Leukemia Lymphoma Society
